Name: Gretchen Charlotte Gottlieb
Nickname(s): "Gretel"
Age: Fifteen years of age.
Year: Sophomore
Nationality: German
Gender Identity: Female
Sexuality: Demisexual
Appearance: Gretchen is a rather petite girl of a height of 5'2", opposite of the typical stereotype of German women; she looks as fragile as a porcelain doll. She pretty much lacks any development, having flat-chest and no major womanly curves but she is indeed very thin (she weighs about a hundred pounds). Her complexion is clear for the most part, and has pale skin with small touches of color due to not really going outside during her childhood. She has curly pale blonde hair, almost to the shade of platinum, and eyes with a pink hue. In her hair there will always be three flower barrettes on the left side. Gretchen's hair is of shoulder length, with bangs that are swept into mid-parts on her forehead.
Gretchen has a girlhood appearance to her, pretty much keeping to feminine clothing. She has a preference towards clothing that is a pastel color, as those soft colors are her favorite. Frills, bows, and so on is a common motif with her clothing, although they are kept in check.
The young blonde doesn't have any strange birth marks, piercings, nor tattoos to mention of. She does have a scar over her right shoulder, something left over from receiving her brother's injury when she was healing him.
Personality: Growing up for most of her life kept away from the outside world, Gretchen is more quiet around people, albeit a tad shy. Despite this, she can handle communicate fairly well, even if it isn't her strongest point; she isn't stumbling or stuttering with her words nor is she the most talkative person. Gretchen is a intelligent lass, being brought up studying for the majority as she was locked away, making her reliable in terms of logic. Along with her intelligence and social skills, she has a naive sense with her. She is a little sensitive as well as a worrisome girl. However, she tries to be cheerful about situations even if she's feeling doubtful. Doing this, she tends to put up barriers of what she really thinks or feels sometimes when she feels like it's the best thing to do. She has an gentle, feminine aura around her and it does do justice as she is a gentle and caring. She is a loyal person towards those she cares for. Despite her wallflower-like ways, she can be a determined and can put up a small fight.
Magic: Healing is a strong point for her, since her first spell was a very weak, basically powerless healing spell. Summoning, transformation, and elemental skills are very basic at the least. Though that magic isn't as strong as her healing is, Gretchen frequently reads up on each to see how she can make up for it.

History: Originally known as simply Charlotte, the young girl was abandoned and kept in a poor orphanage in Germany. Despite her rough days, she was always with a friend of hers, a young orphan boy named Gilbert; despite not having blood relations, the two looked awfully alike and bonded together quickly, making many believing that they were twins. Upon reaching the age of six, Charlotte and Gilbert were adopted as siblings by a young German couple of Roderick and Annaliese Gottlieb. The couple renamed the two as Gretchen and Häns, referring to the tale of Hänsel and Gretel (which were frequently used as nicknames) upon thinking the duo were twins and moved their first given names as their middle names. As they were raised by the couple, both Gretchen and Häns were mostly kept away from the outside world and were home-schooled. Their education was mostly about mythology, particularly about the creatures known as witches. Many times during their childhood the family moved throughout Germany due to Roderick's busy and demanding black market occupation. While Gretchen and Häns were not told of their father's job, they knew that in his work briefcase was guns rather than the typical typewriter and paperwork. And although they liked to believe these tales that their mother told them of about witches were fake, they both thought it was probable existence.
Upon reaching adolescence, Gretchen and her brother were taken out frequently on outings with their father. He taught them how guns worked, how to shoot them, and basic survival skills. Though her brother enjoyed learning such things, Gretchen felt uncomfortable with the concept of what her parents were preparing her for. She was more "book-smart" rather than doing anything physical that Roderick taught her and opted to learning more 'normal' things. She also grew a fondness towards old tales; ironically one of her favorites was the tale of Hänsel and Gretel, because of how much she could relate to it. While her and her brother grew a little in their own ways, Gretchen noted about a particularly strange development she felt; the young blonde felt like she was molding into a new person, something powerful than before, though she had never told her parents nor Häns about her this feeling. She felt like these creatures that her family hated maybe weren't as bad as everybody said, but never voiced it as even her brother became passionate about killing witches as he became closer with his adopted father.
It was on their thirteenth birthday that Roderick had decided that Gretchen and Häns were ready to kill. He took them to kill an elemental witch that was reported in living in a forest, but once they had reached the witch's hideout all hell broke loose. While trying to get a clear shot, Häns was injured by the witch before she fled. Panic broke through Roderick and Annaliese, but before anything could clearly be done by the older man or woman their daughter became one of the enemies. Gretchen casted her own magic, and tried to heal her injured brother as best as she could as if it was an instinct. Her magic barely mended the wound, she was not able to fully heal Häns and ended up fainting from fatigue and gain the injury her self. Seeing that Gretchen was a witch and she was vunerable, Roderick decided that he would kill his daughter before she "turned on them" but his wife stepped in the way, telling him that family was still family and that there might be a place for for their daughter where she could reach her senses and would join them again.
Before she knew it, Gretchen was shipped off to Serenus, so her family would not see her anymore. Her freshman year there was lonely, as she kept to her self and spent her time in the library during any breaks. She sent letters home to her parents and her brother, but they were never answered. This year, the blonde finally decided to try to embrace being a witch and wishes to make companions during the rest of her time at Serenus.
