DIMITRIOU, gaia

At first glance, little Gaia looks like she should be nothing more than a student. She has quite the youthful appearance despite her true age. She stands at four feet and nine inches, and her slim form makes her look like she would weigh next to nothing. This is close as she weighs around seventy-five pounds. Soft skin, large blue eyes, and long, wavy hair--Gaia looks completely out of place in the faculty world. This is only because the newer students and faculty members do not know that she is a spirit. Her human form is a simple spell of illusion, if one could call it that. Really, she just shapeshifted into this form.

Her spirit form is a strange one. Someone could consider her a chimera, though she does not have the body parts of lions, snakes, etc. No, she is more of a hybrid between a Unicorn and a Caladrius, or Dhalion in Greek mythology. Her spirit form could also be considered to be an Alicorn or Winged Unicorn as the Caladrius within her gives her spirit form wings. Her spirit form is small, just like her human form, standing at none other than about four feet and nine inches at the shoulder and weighs around seven hundred pounds. The wings of the Caladrius are large enough to pick Gaia off the ground despite the weight.

There are two sides to Gaia: her true personality and the mask she wears around everyone else. Her mask is that of a happy, peppy nurse who is always smiling. She is willing to help anyone who comes to her, and she tries to do her best no matter what. This mask has built up over the years through trial and error, finding what the students responded well to and what the faculty responded well to. What she decided on was the cutesy approach. It worked well considering how her human form looks, so she stuck with it.

Her true personality is cold and proud. She looks down on everyone, even though she has to look up just to see them properly. She scowls a lot, and she is more likely to roll her eyes at a request than to do anything about it. She gives people the cold shoulder as soon as she turns to leave, dropping her mask unless there are people in the hall. She finds it hard to trust anyone, and even her relationship with the head mistress is a little strained due to her pride. Regardless, her loyalty to the head mistress is not to be questioned. If an order or request comes from the head mistress, Gaia will follow through with it no matter how many complaints she has.

Regardless of whether she shows you the mask or her true side (she is more likely to show you the mask), Gaia is loyal to a fault once she deems you worthy of her trust and companionship. She more or less has an unhealthy addiction to sugar cubes, and she can normally be found walking around with a box of them. Due to her Caladrius blood, she is known to completely turn a blind eye to someone who would not recover from treatment of any kind from her, and she will leave them to the mercy of fate or the medical magic helpers who sometimes lounge around in her office. Due to her Unicorn blood, she also tends to inch away from the tainted. She may not be the purest spirit around as well, but she can tell when someone is impure in one way or another.

Gaia does not have the average magic that the witches wield. There are two different beings fighting for power within her, though she can keep them under control rather well. The Unicorn side of her gives her healing properties through her tears. She does not use this very much as she finds it hard to cry over someone she barely knows, so any wounds must be healed the normal way with stitches and bandages. In her spirit form, her horn can also make poisoned/polluted water potable. The Caladrius side of her has the ability to pull out illnesses from the body of another and bring it into herself. She must then leave the room, shift forms, and fly around in order to disperse the illness and fully heal both herself and the patient. Gaia has also been known to have her wings (a lot smaller and unable to allow her to fly) appear out of nowhere when her emotions get the best of her. The bracelet she wears, however, keeps herself from revealing too much.

The only item Gaia has for her 'abilities' is a bracelet that keeps her from randomly showing her true form in front of unsuspecting students.

Head Mistress -- Summoner

For living so long, someone would think that this little spirit had a lot to tell. Well, she doesn't. It's primarily just the usual old I was born, dad left home not long after, and mother hated me. Yes, she had that sort of childhood. Her birth of sorts was more of a one night stand than anything else, though her father at least had some decency to stick around until her birth. Her mother, however, despised her since day one. Spirits were different than humans, but that does not mean that she does not have the same problems of some families. As soon as she was old enough to take care of herself, which was only around five years after birth, her mother ditched her. The rest of her centuries were spent trying to find herself in the world.

She had been summoned plenty of times before. All of her previous masters could never truly tame her. They were not strong enough to keep a 'being of purity' in their grasp. How could they when they were all tainted? She hated looking at them. They disgusted her. She made sure their lives became nothing but a living hell while she was summoned, and she normally ignored any orders. She would not heal them, and she would not cry for them. After a while, witches and warlocks alike stopped trying to summon her, and her life went back to the way it used to be.

It wasn't until twenty years ago that she was finally summoned once more. This summoner was much stronger than the others who dared try to summon and tame her. This person, the head mistress of Serenus Academy, a place she had heard whispers of back in her home plane. The head mistress was a force to be reckoned with, and Gaia soon found her match. She was tamed, begrudgingly, and bound to the school grounds. Leaving was not an option unless accompanied by the head mistress or anyone she elected to go with her. Due to her healing properties, Gaia was placed as the school's head nurse. She quickly picked up the necessary medical knowledge for earth, and she was ready for work within a few months. Since then, she has been at the academy, never once leaving. The first couple of years, she was questioned for her appearance that never aged once, and it wasn't until her seventh year that the head mistress finally revealed to the faculty that she was a spirit. As for the students, they had to find out on their own, though they normally figured out by asking their seniors.
